Drake As A Brand

What can I say about Drake, Papi Champu, Champagnepapi, The 6 God and my favorite Aubrey. Believe it or not, but Drake is probably one of the strongest brands in the world right now. When you listen to the radio, at least one of his songs will come on. Drake not only limited himself to music, but he has his own line of Whiskey called Virginia Black and he is the owner of October's Very Own.

The Toronto based rapper has excelled and surpassed all of the expectations of a rapper. He has been able to stay relevant for the last 10 years, and it look as if he will not be stopping anytime soon. Drake not only has a sneaker deal, but the brand he is signed to Nike. This is a clear example on how much confidence Nike has in the Drake brand as well.

Rumors

Let's be serious though, Drake cannot do all these things himself. It is not clear, but many people believe that Drake's music label is not actually a label. In fact, It is an "OVO Sweatshop" this term was coined by DJ Akadmiks. Basically, the people signed to the label write all of his music, and the songs Drake does not want, the artist themselves get to keep them. It sounds terrible from an ethical standpoint, but this is a busy baby! We all gotta eat! Drake's manager Oliver El-Khatib has also been caught up in shady business with rappers getting upped for not supporting Drake. It is a dog eat dog world out here, and Drake and his team are taking full advantage of it.

Net Worth

After doing much resource, Drake's Net Worth in 2016 was $60 Million, and in 2017 it rose to $90 million. This put him in the Top Five Richest Rappers in 2017. Numbers don't lie, so this is also a clear example on how the Drake brand is constantly growing.

My Personal Experience

I am not going to lie, I have also bought into the Drake brand. I may or may not have a Drake lyric tattooed on me, and have some of his clothing line merch. What can I say, I am easily influenced. In all honesty, I think Drake is a great rapper, and an even better business man. I really hope 2018 treats the October born rapper well.

I bought this hat for an amount that will not be named, but I'm just gonna say I spent too much on it. It doesn't even fit my head right either. I guess I am a Drake Stan.
